Ramon Gonzales III
For those who've read Dan Wells' previous book, I Am Not A Serial Killer, this recent installment will do it justice. Despite having taken a vastly different approach to the Mystery-Suspense genre, Mr. Monster greatly adds on to the sensation of genuine curiosity that we felt in the last book. John Wayne Cleaver definitely strikes us with a new perspective on life through his sociopath tendencies, and makes the reader think in a new light on how he deals with a struggle in emotion, rationality, and constitution. While also inviting new ideas as to the nature of the character, we see another villain that, while not as characterizing or close as the last, definitely comes as a surprising, but well invited twist. As I re-read this series, Mr. Monster remains my favorite.
