About this ebook

Nate Grant knows that his eldest brother has the respect, his middle brother has the smarts, and he was left to fight for his own piece of the spotlight. Thus, began his daring, dangerous, and often a little bit crazy foray into the world of rodeo. Now, with his career on the rise, Nate is back in town to do a promotional show at the local Strawberry Festival to land himself a major sponsor. But when he arrives expecting to be welcomed as the hometown hero, he instead finds himself challenged by the only person who could ever make him shake in his boots: Athena Moore.

Athena grew up on the wrong side of the tracks. Limited money for rodeo lessons or competitions meant that while she could best the boys, she couldn’t follow them to the big leagues. Watching Nate excel really lit a fire in her britches and after school she began training and teaching young girls rodeo skills. Winning against Nate at the upcoming Strawberry Festival will show the girls (and Athena) that they could do anything boys could—and do it better to boot.

But promoting the event means Nate and Athena are forced to spend time together. Too much time to keep their tumultuous feelings under wraps. Now, there’s a grudging respect to their relationship and a heavy dose of passion too. But as Nate and Athena get closer, their competition becomes public via a reality show. When the lines between promotion and passion are crossed, they’ll be forced to ask themselves what it is they’re fighting for...and what they’ll lose if they win.

This novel contains sexual content, profanity and scenes with substance abuse.

Nate’s more than a little cocky. He’s earned it. He’s at the top of his game and he’s looking for ways to make sure he stays there. Athena’s been stuck in their hometown, working hard to make ends meet while trying to keep her rodeo dreams alive. When a promotional exhibition brings these two back into one another’s orbits, no one’s quite sure what the final outcome will be, just that it’s probably going to be explosive. Even though Nate carries a lot of the alpha-hole attitude, he’s fully aware of just how fragile his current celebrity status is. Making him vulnerable and oh so lovable because I adore a vulnerable hero. And when you give him a feisty partner who’s more than willing to call him on all his bad behaviour, I’m going to be a fan for life. Athena’s got lots of her own baggage to work through that causes some big misunderstandings between the pair. I really enjoyed watching them banter. They have so much chemistry, which made for some epic showdowns. I find that I’m not ready to let go of the extended Grant family now that it’s over. The Cowboy's Rodeo Rival Book 3 by Leslie North. This is Nate and Athena's story. I really enjoyed this story mainly because it focused on girls/women being as good as boys/men in a men's sport ( rodeo). Nate is back in town for a mini rodeo to land a big sponsor but the one person he has to up against is Athena. From childhood she was good if not better then the boys but it was harder for her to go up against the big boys but Nate left and now he's a big rodeo star. But coming back stirred up more than competition. The attraction they feel is so strong they can't deny their feelings. The more I read I loved how they each had and taught the other person what was missing in their lives. The ending made me smile as they went from enemies to lovers. Girl Power. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I really enjoyed this romance. I thought that the characters were interesting and likable. Even though Nate was arrogant, I could understand and relate to his actions. He felt overshadowed by his brothers and was struggling to come into his own. Athena, truly captured a piece of my heart. Her desire to be successful and having her talent thrawrted simply because of where she came from and her limited resouces was also very relatable and endearing. This couples attraction and chemistry was powerful and it was easy for me to root for them. The emotional turmoil between their drive for success and their desire foore each other made for a very entertaining read.

About the author

Leslie North is the pen name for a critically-acclaimed author of women's contemporary romance and fiction. The anonymity gives her the perfect opportunity to paint with her full artistic palette, especially in the romance and erotic fantasy genres.

The truth of the matter is she loves her fictional persona, Leslie North, more than her normal, day-to-day persona! Her bestselling books focus on strong characters and particularly women who aren't afraid to challenge an alpha male. Inspired after years of travel, her stories are set all over the world, from the tough streets of Russia to the beautiful beaches of the middle east.

Leslie fell in love with romance when she first picked up a scrappy, dog-eared romance book from her local library. She began writing soon after and the rest, as they say, was history. She now lives in a cozy cottage on the British coast and enjoys taking long walks with her two Dalmatians, George and Fergie.
