About this ebook

She hates me… almost as much as she wants me.

I have everything I should want. Only the thrill is gone. My days are grey.

Until I meet Meg. The inexperienced college student is a breath of fresh air. Sassy, s*xy, completely unimpressed by me. She hates my cocky grin. She huffs at my one-liners. And when she asks if I have some place better to put my mouth…

I make her an offer. Her place, my place, any place, as long as I can make her groan all night long. I'm as surprised as she is when she says yes. Who would have guessed that booksmart, guarded, gorgeous as all hell Meg would want me to be her first?

We keep it simple. Three rules to protect both of us.

No feelings, no secrets, no falling in love.

But some things are easier said than done.

From the author: Just a Taste is a standalone enemies to lovers romance packed with heat, humor, and heart. Come see why readers say "no one writers broken bad boys like Crystal Kaswell."

Just A Taste is a well written novel about finding that perfect for you someone even when you proclaim love just isn’t possible. It is about two beautifully broken people who find a connection even when the agreement is “no feelings, no secrets, and no falling in love”. What could possible go wrong with that type of arrangement?! I absolutely fell in love with Miles. He presents himself as the arrogant playboy with a calm and carefree exterior, but I love how he has that hidden, vulnerable side to him. I always love a hero who has many layers to him. Miles pours his heart and soul into his lyrics and it is these lyrics that bring solace to Meg as she tries to navigate through a difficult time in her life. Can I just take a moment to say that I appreciate how the author incorporates his lyrics throughout the book? Meg is a likable, strong heroine. My heart broke for her many times over and I really enjoyed how she was able to see past the facade the Miles presents to the world and really see him as a person and not the rockstar. The two of them together are dynamite with some sizzling scenes that are sure to melt your kindle. In addition to the romance between Meg and Miles, I enjoyed the dynamic between the other band members. Just A Taste is a standalone novel in this author’s Sinful Serenade series. It contains mostly new material that was not seen in Sing Your Heart Out. This book was an entertaining read that put me through all of the feels. It has inspired me to go back and re-read the entire series as this author’s books are so well written with engaging storylines; likable, well-developed characters; and of course, rockstars!

Miles is A screwed up rock star with a don’t care attitude. Or at least that’s what he thinks he wants everyone to see. He’s in pain. Suffered many losses in his life. He pours his emotions into his lyrics but people don’t listen to the words. Then along comes Meg. She hears him. She hurts with him. And that just scares Miles. He is drawn to her but has nothing to offer her emotionally just sex. They become friends with benefits. The chemistry is hot and sexy. Miles is far more caring and sensitive than even he believes. You want to love him and smack him at the same time. He is gorgeous. Crystal Kaswell describes him so well. The pictures form clearly in your mind. He is one very sexy rock star. The story pushes and pulls your emotions. Sometimes bright and happy, other times sad and frustrating. It is a great read. Very entertaining.

4.5 Stars I read this story originally as Sing Your Heart Out and always wanted to see the story from the other POV and I am so glad that it is here. Such a great version of this story!
