About this ebook

After years of frequent moves following her mother’s death, Chloe Saunders’s life is finally settling down. She is attending art school, pursuing her dreams of becoming a director, making friends, meeting boys. Her biggest concern is that she’s not developing as fast as her friends are. But when puberty does hit, it brings more than hormone surges. Chloe starts seeing ghosts–everywhere, demanding her attention. After she suffers a breakdown, her devoted aunt Lauren gets her into a highly recommended group home.

At first, Lyle House seems a pretty okay place, except for Chloe’s small problem of fearing she might be facing a lifetime of mental illness. But as she gradually gets to know the other kids at the home–charming Simon and his ominous, unsmiling brother Derek, obnoxious Tori, and Rae, who has a “thing” for fire–Chloe begins to realize that there is something that binds them all together, and it isn’t your usual “problem kid” behaviour. And together they discover that Lyle House is not your usual group home either…

This book is AMAZING!!! Kelly Armstrong is an extraordinary writer, she made the characters VERY believable and seem like real people. I couldn't put the book down once I started reading it. It is truly a book you will want more of. It goes from action-packed to romance, from necromancers(people who can see and raise the dead) to sorcerers, witches, and werewolves. But unlike the classic witches on brooms, sorcerers with wands, evil necromancers and half wolf men who can't control themselves, this shows a more realistic version that is truly believable. I suggest this to anyone and everyone.

Wow! Talk about a cliffhanger of an ending!! Since this is a trilogy, I am almost hesitant to read the next book in fear of it ending in a similar fashion! I certainly couldn't wait six months with an ending like this one's! The frustrating ending aside, I must say this a really good YA fantasy book. One that I think is surprisingly age appropriate without seeming like a watered down version of the rest of the Women of the Otherworld series. I must admit, that having read her adult series first let me into quite a few clues than if I had started out with just reading this book. Still, this was a lot more fun than I expected - and much more exiting!!

This book is amazing. It is the best book I have read in months. I am so glad I came across this book just in time for the holidays. I'm going to ask for it this Christmas. And I can't wait to find out what going to happen with Chloe and the others.
