Arthur Ignatius Conan Doyle, born in Edinburgh, Scotland on May 22, 1859, and died in Crowborough, England on July 7, 1930, was a British writer and physician, world-renowned for his stories about the detective Sherlock Holmes and his assistant Dr. Watson. There are numerous adaptations of his books for film, theater, and TV series. Not to mention the references and versions, as well as literary parodies of the character. His work is a landmark in world literature; not only is it extensive, but it also brought innovative characteristics to the writings of his time that are still reflected today.
