Darius, a lonely nine-year-old Black boy, faces daily bullying and ridicule because of his dark skin. His life changes when he meets Husani, an extraterrestrial boy with an onyx-hued complexion from the distant planet Khemnu. As Darius helps Husani navigate Earth and evade a covert government agency intent on capturing him, he learns powerful lessons about self-love, cultural pride, and the beauty of diversity. Through his friendship with Husani, Darius learns that his identity and dark appearance are sources of strength, not shame. With Husani's guidance, Darius discovers that confidence and self-worth come from within, and that Black is not only beautiful but powerful.
