Es ist eine eng zusammengewachsene Nachbarschaft, doch bald braucht Frau Motte einen neuen Mitbewohner. Weder Familie Mücke noch Fliege sind von der neuen Bewohnerin Frau Raupe angetan. Sie ist zu groß, zu hässlich und passt einfach nicht zu ihnen. Auch Frau Motte beugt sich dem Druck der Nachbarn, weswegen Frau Raupe sich aus Einsamkeit irgendwann einfach einspinnt. Das Resultat lässt die Nachbarn bald staunen.-

Johanna Else Ury ist eine deutsche Kinderbuchautorin, Schriftstellerin und Opfer des Holocaust. Ihre Geschichten richtete sie hauptsächlich an junge Mädchen und vertrat darin das bürgerliche Familien- und Frauenbild. Ihre bekannteste Figur ist die blonde Arzttochter Annemarie Braun, deren Leben in den zehn Romanen mit dem Titel Nesthäkchen behandelt wird.
