This is book three in The Cook County Series and it is Lucky and Cammie's story. This series just gets better and better with each book. Lucky hasn't had much luck in his life and he has a no relationship or commitments rule for a reason and that is so he can't hurt anyone else as he thinks that he is not good enough for any woman. Cammie has had feelings for Lucky for quite a while but he keeps people at arm's length and has built a wall around him so high that it will take a special person to break it down and Cammie wants to be that person and she is also determined to show Lucky that he does deserve love but will she be able to get through to him or will be run away to avoid it only time will tell what the outcome will be for them especially as they are so perfect for each other and deserve a happy ending. This book takes you on a roller coaster ride of emotions along with pain, guilt, trust, forgiveness, hope, love and other situations that makes this book a real page turner that I couldn't put down and it was so addictive. I definitely recommend you read this book and others by Shylyn Ray who is a brilliant author and writer and her book's are definitely worth reading. I Voluntarily Reviewed a Copy of This Book.

Cammie and Lucky are both broken. She from a life threatening illness she’s been hiding and him from an awful childhood and a traumatic experience that happened recently to him. Cammie smiles and works through her pain while he hides his in bottles of alcohol. I wasn’t sure about Lucky. He wasn’t very honorable and was drunk all the time. But when he discovers Cammie’s secret he steps up and takes care of her by marrying her so she has better health insurance, competing in rodeos to pay for her medical bills, and making a deal with his no account father who never gave his mother financial support to save Cammie’s life.

Lucky and Cammie grew up with painful backstories and secrets no one knew. I hate to think about someone committing suicide right next to you, or her need for transplant surgery at such a young age. The characters feel so real and deal with so many issues with legitimate feelings and worries. People enter their lives with some able to help along the way, but some you really want to slap or better yet, sew their mouths shut. The storyline is a roller coaster of events and situations that boggle the mind, turning the pages to see how they get through another devastation. There are strong close friends and now relatives that support and protect. The ending was perfect. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
