But his daring theft goes horribly wrong and Darren finds himself having to make a bargain with a creature of the night.

Something out of the ordinary is set against the background of children’s normal lives to chilling effect. Atmospheric, funny, realistic, moving and... terrifying.

I bought some of these books for my father many years back thinking he might enjoy them... I was wrong, a wasted gift. Both he and I hated them, his prose is weak and his lore is pathetic but the absolute worst part about it is that he tries very hard to convince you that the books are a true story...

My personal opinion Darren Shan's books are AWESOME! For the past 16 years I have found myself reading his series on and off. I can remember the first time I read this book in Primary School. Even to this day I find the story just as gripping and just as hard to out down as the very first time I had encountered the work of Darren Shan. I hope many more people come across his work as I believe they will be instant fans.

Amazing. Once I started reading I couldn't stop.i would say I'm just going to finish this chapter and read the next 5.im hooked on it and can't wait to get started on the next one. It's so interesting and would 100% recommend it. 😊👍🥰
