Her Cyborg Beast

I can't seem to finish this like all the other books by Grace Goodwin. There were a lot of bad character development in this one. CJ was a no-nonsense woman who's goal was to just escape jail & find a new career. I thought it would have made a pretty challenging story to write. Unique on it's own compared to the rest of the brides stories since CJ was very progressive in her ideas of marriage & child-bearing. So to have her come around to her love interest way too quickly & just immediately go into ' I want to have this stranger's babies' just seems like it's breaking character for CJ. The baby happened too fast. I am so disappointed that my mind just can't wrap around the idea that this is the same CJ from before she arrived on the alien planet. I'm not complaining about the steamy scenes as I know those are to be expected in Goodwin's stories, but I just can't get into feeling like Rezzer & CJ are an item due to how the the heroine of this book was handled. Not great at all.

This book mentions babies a lot. If youre looking for a quick, fun, sexy read look somewhere else. The heroine is ... highly? Unlikable. Only thing i really gathered from her is that she wants babies. The hero has no character whatsoever. Is he upset? You couldn't tell. Happy? No idea. The one and only detail i gathered about him: he wants babies. Babies are mentioned every few pages. Its... not okay.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. What a great book! I loved this story and am always amazed at how each book and story is so different and unique with suspense and action and always filled with love tenderness and yes..... definitely hot sizzling sex to get you going. There is never a dull moment at all in your books and I mean that as well. In this book, we (the readers) are taken back to The Prillon Colony, base 3. Here we meet one of the most noble and yet tender Cyborg Atlan named Rezzer who feels so lost and worthless due to losing his beast while he was captured by the Hive. He does not ever believe that he is worthy to even have a mate. However, enter Caroline Jane (CJ) Ellison who is one strong, determined, resilient, former Wall Street Analyst will stop at nothing to claim Rezzer along with his hidden/lost beast. While the story definitely had the suspense, action, and great tantalizing moments of sex, (I had to fan myself a few times there. LOL) it was the tender moments of love, the thoughts and endearing words from Rezzer that truly won me over (with my heart as well). I loved that there were the other characters from Ms Goodwin's previous books such as Kiel, Rachel and her two Prillon mate's Maxim and Ryston along with Dr Surnen and others. This book was great however, once again we come to see that the mysterious Nexus 4 makes an appearance as Caroline is kidnapped and abducted (that is alll I am saying but you will have to read the book-it's so good and I do know that you all will not be disappointed). Again we get to know a tiny bit more of Nexus 4 but as always, my inquiring mind wants to know about this mysterious alien race and what do they have in common with the Hive or do they control of the Hive or are they a superior race of the Hive? This is definitely something to watch out for. I also want to say that I hope we are able to hear more about Denzel as he definitely is someone from Earth who I would like to hear more about. Rezzer, however stole my heart in the book and Caroline had me admiring her guts and determination. Never underestimate the power of a strong determined woman. Ever!! Also, if you love babies, you will love this book more. Although there is a baby or two in the past stories of The Interstellar Brides series, this was truly a debut for an appearance of a baby or more here in The Prillon Colony. If you know about the Prillon Colony and the Warriors/Soldiers there, than you will know why. Ms Goodwin, again, a huge toast to you for your ability and talent to always pull us in to your stories taking us to other worlds and Planets far, far away as well as being able to hear of some of our favorite characters from past books. Reading your books is always a favorite highlight for me each and every month. I will always continue to support you by buying your books for family and friends. A huge toast to you always!
