This is a definite underdog to winner story. There’s the big covens who covet power and force anyone who’s not there’s to be small so your typical bullies and then there’s our characters who hide in plain sight and keep their magic small and hope for the end of the coven’s stranglehold. There is plenty of supernatural characters and powers set in the absolute perfect setting of New Orleans. Can you think of a better setting really? Lots of secrets and dangerous goings on, some romance as well. O

defeat the threat I liked that there is no obvious solution and that everyone works together to protect each other. I find the story exciting and can't wait to find out what happens next. However, I had trouble telling the names apart because some are very similar.

I've never read anything from these authors before and the synopsis sounded interesting to me. I am glad that I took a chance and read this book, I didn't want to put it down, but alas, life dictated otherwise, so I got to enjoy the book for longer.
