I don't understand the high rating others gave. I reached the end of the book wondering what answers were given or what the point of the book was. Yes, multiple definitions of emotional neglect...repetitive actually. I found this book lacking substance.

A great starting point into an honest self evaluation. This is highly useful in company with professional help. For us that always take on challenges alone, this is great wake up material.

Brilliant book. After 35 years of suffering, loneliness and confusion about life in general, I'm starting to feel, have feelings and be interested in other people, escaping isolation. I would strongly recommend it for every adult, especially parents, who unintentionally may scar their children for life, despite best intentions. It contains a lot of examples and ways to overcome those problems. Now I can say for the first time: I live.
