About the author

Veena S. Chakravarthi is presently a Professor of Electronics and Communication Engineering at B.N.M. Institute of Technology (BNMIT), Bangalore, India. She obtained her PhD in Electronics Engineering from Bangalore University in 2008. Dr. Chakravarthi has over two decades of semiconductor industry experience in managing design and development of large multiprocessor SoCs. She has to her credit 6 multiprocessor multimillion gate tapeouts and over 20 silicon-proven IP core designs. She is engaged in teaching undergraduate/post graduate students and has been teaching courses like Analog and Mixed VLSI Design, SOC Design, VLSI Design Verification and Embedded Systems. Her areas of research interest include VLSI design and testing, VLSI and embedded systems, low-power ASIC design, EPON technology, Bluetooth, and wireless LAN. She has published 16 research papers in national and international level conferences. She has served as a PON consultant to Ikanos Communications for their PON product developments and also as a consultant to Pereira Ventures, US. She is an Associate Member of the IEEE and Technical Member of IACSIT (International Association of Computer Science and Information Technology).

Yasha Jyothi M. Shirur is an Associate Professor in the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering at BNMIT, Bangalore. She completed her master’s degree in Electronics Engineering in 2004 from BMS College of Engineering, Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgaum, India. She is currently pursuing PhD in the field of DFT for Asynchronous Dominant SoCs at ECE research centre, BNMIT, Bangalore. She has more than 15 years of academics experience. Her areas of research include validation, testing and on-chip process parameter sensing on VLSI chips. She has to her credit two technical papers in national conferences and one in international conference. She has been teaching different subjects like ASIC Design, Analog and Mixed Mode Design, CMOS VLSI Design, Information Theory and Coding, Transmission Lines and Waveguides, Cryptography, Digital Communication, Network Analysis and Linear Integrated Circuits and Applications for undergraduate and postgraduate students. She is a Life Member of the Indian Society for Technical Education.

Rekha P. is an Associate Professor of Telecommunication Engineering at BNMIT, Bangalore. She holds a master’s degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Bangalore University and BE in Electronics and Communication Engineering from R.V. College of Engineering, Bangalore. Presently, she is pursuing PhD in sensing technology (gas sensing) under Visvesvaraya Technological University. Mrs. Rekha has more than 10 years of teaching experience and has been teaching courses like Logic Design, Microwaves and Radar, Transmission Lines and Antennas, Computer Networks and Fundamentals of HDL. Her areas of research interest include advanced materials, environment monitoring and VLSI. She is a Life Member of the Indian Society for Technical Education.
