About this ebook

'You can't go around building a better world for people. Only people can build a better world for people. Otherwise, it's just a cage.'

There's power in stories. The Fairy Godmother is good. The servant girl marries the Prince. Everyone lives happily ever after . . . don't they?

The witches Granny Weatherwax, Nanny Ogg and Magrat Garlick are travelling to far-distant Genua to stop a wedding and save a kingdom. But how do you fight a happy-ever-after, especially when it comes with glass slippers and a power-hungry Fairy Godmother who has made Destiny an offer it can't refuse?

It's hard to resist a good story, even when the fate of the kingdom depends on it . . .

'No one mixes the fantastical and mundane to better comic effect' Daily Mail

'One of our greatest fantasists, and beyond a doubt the funniest' George RR Martin

Witches Abroad is the third book in the Witches series, but you can read the Discworld novels in any order.

Possibly my favourite Pratchett which is really saying something. This is very funny read is centred around Pratchett's witches exploring what fairy tales are really all about. Granny Weatherwax, Nanny Ogg and Magrat are all great characters and show real growth through the story. We get to cross the much of the discworld and see Genua up close (it bears a striking resemblance to New Orleans). Pratchett's snappy dialogue and insightful asides are present right through to the very last line. A book I read again and again and enjoy every time.

Nothing less than Brilliant ! As expected from 1 of our crazy World's greatest exponents of Weird & Totally Wonderful ! Yet again Sir Ter excelled himself ! (& With No Competition for the: "Master of Mischief, Mayhem & a Fair Bit of Fiddling" Title, Our dear Terry had Only Himself to Compete with !) Still So Sadly Missed - what he would've made of Bo Jo the prime-Clownister, or even worse, Dumbald J.tRumpf (the Turd !) would have been Glorious to Behold ! But through his multitude of Work, from a great Variety of Places and ages to Mine his Golden Nuggets (Not to be mistook for Brass Nuggets, which perform almost as badly as the Infamous Brass Monkey in very Cold Weather ! Also Known as The "Chully Wullie" Season in Edin-bur-agh & other Year-Round Kilt Wearing egionalities of Scott-Lan the "d" is Silent in Scotlan[d], -A's are many other Letterz, V,owls and Numburhs in the [Sun]–drenched North, leading to hellth Warninz Aboot Trade,in & Gamblihn !) 💙2 The Word-Wizard. Sorely missed!😢

About the author

Terry Pratchett was the acclaimed creator of the global bestselling Discworld series, the first of which, The Colour of Magic, was published in 1983. In all, he was the author of over fifty bestselling books which have sold over 100 million copies worldwide. His novels have been widely adapted for stage and screen, and he was the winner of multiple prizes, including the Carnegie Medal. He was awarded a knighthood for services to literature in 2009, although he always wryly maintained that his greatest service to literature was to avoid writing any.
