The Way of Overcomers

Like all the other books I have read from this author, the language is simple and straight forward and flows perfectly from beginning to end. The author presents the simple way to the overcomer Christian life with several concrete examples from the Holy Scriptures. The basic requirement of every overcomer is the ability to constantly choose to satisfy God instead of satisfying self or man. The book begins with a brief introduction which simply defines who overcomers are and presents some defining attributes. This is followed by the example of Gideon and the 300, the Levites as the tribe of overcomers, Caleb as an individual overcomer, the work of an overcomer, How to continue in the overcoming life and how to return to this overcoming life with the example of the letters to the churches in Ephesus and Laodicea in Revelations. I have always thought that overcomers are some special super hero Christians. However, the life of overcomers is supposed to the normal Christian life. We just have to give our all to the Lord and serve him totally just as we are. He is the one who makes us perfect, so we must not wait until we are perfect before we start serving him. It is also noteworthy that when we overcome, it should be for the good of the body of Christ as a whole, and not just for personal interests. Gideon, the Levites and even Caleb all obtained great victories as overcomers but this was for the good of all and not just for themselves. If you are a Christian and want to live a normal Christian life and grow in faith and service, this is the book for you. Every member of the body of Christ needs to read this book.
