What a perfectly wonderful story! All the best parts of The Nutcracker and the magic of the 1940s made this book enchanting, and the reality of battle induced PTSD and the dedication of those who choose to stand unwavering by those affected made it heartwarming. A perfect Christmas read that I will come back to every year from here on out.
