About this ebook

She lives by the rules of science. He operates by a code of duty and honor. But when their worlds collide, the heat between them will melt every rule in the book.

Max Hawkins, the former SEAL and black ops security team member, excels at getting the job done. And that’s exactly what he did when he rescued a pretty scientist from a lunatic.

Problem is, the pretty scientist thinks the job has just begun.

After waking up in the hospital, Sloane is insistent on returning to the scene of the crime. And against his better instincts, Max agrees to help.

Sloane Watson is a brilliant scientist who excels at academics but struggles in most other areas of life– especially human connections. Her haven is her work, or it was until she stumbled onto deadly secrets.

Their lives depend on finding a way to work together, which requires concessions neither wants to make. For the first time, success will be defined by something other than their careers, and the stakes on the line are the most important of their lives– and their hearts.

Savage Beauty, the second in the Beauty trilogy within the Arrow Tactical Series, is a steamy, suspenseful standalone romance full of heat, mystery, and adventure.

This is book 2 of The Beauty Trilogy within the Arrow Tactical Series. Having read book 1, Stolen Beauty, I was curious about Max and Sloane's story. Sloan is a unique and interesting female lead and I loved her inner dialogue when reading from her POV. The fact that Max falls in love with and celebrates her 'differences' was a highlight for me. The action and intrigue within the story kept me eagerly turning the pages, and I enjoyed the spice and intimacy between the two leads.

4.25 - 4.5 stars. Part two in this trilogy and part of a longer series gives Sage's sister Sloane time to shine, for what happened to her in Stollen beauty to be explained some more, and for that story to continue. It was nice to get to know Sloane some more, what an interesting character she was, seeing her and Max together made me smile. I still have questions but I've worked out that I need to read at least the next two books to get my answers, and I am ok with that. I enjoyed the different relationships in this, how out past experiences shape us, the danger, secrets, mystery, connections, chemistry and seeing two very different people fall in love. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I had to take a few days to think on this review as I was really conflicted. I LOVE this series and author but struggled with this book. All because of the female main character. I could not connect with or comprehend the female main character. I can't even explain why without ruining a plot point. Unfortunately it ruined the whole experience for me, but I'm sure most readers won't have the same issue, I just think too hard and let things fester. In saying all of this I'm SO excited for the upcoming releases announced at the back of the book.
