About this ebook

Widely considered one of the best novels ever written, Anna Karenina is the tragic story of the aristocratic Anna’s doomed affair with the wealthy Count Vronsky. Reflecting Russian morals of the time, as well as Tolstoy’s personal feelings on infidelity, Anna Karenina explores themes of passion and fidelity, the impact that social norms have on personal choice, and the ramifications of choosing a life outside of that deemed acceptable by society.

I do wish that I could understand Russian as I believe that in its original form there was even more greatness and that as an English translated version it must have lost some of its magic. I found it extremely tragic and beautiful and moving. We have all experienced a love that consumes you and this is the essence in a masterpiece. It shows how it can inspire and destroy every part of your life. I found that some of the quotes stayed with me as if it had latched on to my soul.

Amazing book! It was long but worth reading it. A story about the human condition and how the characters deal with the struggles in their heart and mind. The last chapters or so were out of nowhere but it did bring the story to a close and left us thinking and reflecting on our own beliefs.
