We can't choose the strangers we meet.

As the guests arrive at beautiful, remote Mitchell's Inn, they're all looking forward to a relaxing weekend deep in the forest, miles from anywhere. They watch their fellow guests with interest, from a polite distance.

Usually we can avoid the people who make us nervous, make us afraid.

With a violent storm raging, the group finds itself completely cut off from the outside world. Nobody can get in - or out. And then the first body is found . . . and the horrifying truth comes to light. There's a killer among them - and nowhere to run.

Until we find ourselves in a situation we can't escape. Trapped.

I've read a couple of Shari's books before... this one I struggled with all the way through. I fact I gave up 3/4s through.. if you like Agatha Christie you MIGHT like this... otherwise you may find yourself falling asleep like me, and constantly bored. I didnt want to give up so I kept trying, in the end I had to put the book down. Not for me ! The Couple Next Door was really good..this book in my view was dreadful! sorry Shari

Implausible. Disappointing with random details and a weak plot. This marks the last book of Lapena I will waste time on. The only reason it has been described as "Unputdownable" I believe, is because it was a who dunnit. And naturally, you want to know whodunnit. I was further disappointed that one could not deduce who the murderer is by using the information provided. I only guessed who it was because it was the character least explored. As always with Lapena, no closure. My favorite of hers remains, the light hearted, Things Go Flying.

I do not recommend this book to Anyone, such an advertisement such a high price until recently. the thing is this book it's completely disappointing, the idea of the book sounds awesome bunch of strangers stuck in remote hotel, sounds just thrilling but actually the story is written in the most basic and boring way you could imagine. Not worth the money at all!
