Chock full of superficial advice. A better title would be How to get along with your step children . I emailed the Deal organization to inquire whether Ron Deal was an actual step parent. HE IS NOT. But according to his book he knows some. Im not an aeronautical engineer. But I know one. Does that make me ready to write a book on the subject?

Wow there is a lot to think about with stepchildren. I am glad I found this book. It gave a lot of what to expect, and I hope this will help. It has helped me make a decision to continue in this relationship. I don't have kids of my own so I am really nervous but this book has layed out a good base.

About the author
Ron L. Deal, MMFT, is the founder of Successful Stepfamilies and an expert in remarriage and stepfamily education and therapy. He is author of The Smart Stepfamily and coauthor with Laura Petherbridge of The Smart Stepmom and with David H. Olson of The Remarriage Checkup. Ron is a licensed marriage and family therapist and licensed professional counselor who frequently appears in the national media. He is a popular conference speaker and his video series The Smart Stepfamily DVD is used in communities, churches, and homes throughout the world. Ron is a member of the Stepfamily Expert Council for the National Stepfamily Resource Center. Ron and his wife, Nan, and their sons live in Amarillo, Texas.
