What Hard Times Hath Wrought: A Novelette

In a near-future United States on the brink of total collapse, Mia Thompson leads her teenage nephew and grief-stricken step-daughter on a treacherous journey westward across a depopulated Midwest. Siphoning gas from ambandoned cars and hunting for game along the way, Mia is forced to confront the harsh reality: that she doesn’t have the strength to ensure their broken family will survive.
