Beautiful Chains

Alexei and Alina's story continues, I've been impatiently waiting for this book after reading the first last year. It ends on another cliff hanger and I don't know how I'm possibly going to wait for the next, I was left with quite a book hangover, especially as I had to re-read the first book before to refresh myself. I read it quite quickly, I couldn't put it down, I needed to find out what was going to happen, making it incredibly easy to be drawn into the world of Alexei and Alina. I was reading into 3am to get it finished. I tried to put it down and go to sleep, but couldn't relax until I'd finished. This author has a talent for writing about, possessive, obsessive, controling men, that in theory should be unlikable, however have redeeming qualities that draws you to them. Alina was a very complex character, that although has been met in previous books, you don't really get to really know her until this one. I just don't know how I'm going to wait for the next book.

It took me some time to get back into the story, seeing that the last book was released 14 months ago, but once I got there, I could not help but feel for Alexei. He truly loves Alina and while she cannot help herself to want him, she keeps pushing him away. But the worst is the decision, they will have to make now (and lets hope, it won't be another 14 months, until we learn, what they will do). I don't want to reveal too much, but it is a decision, no mother should be forced to make. If you love Anna Zaires, you will love this book.

It feels like I’ve waited for Beautiful Chains forever. This book was worth the wait. Alina continues to fight her attraction to Alexei, but he is not having it. He is unequivocally obsessed and infatuated with his betrothed. I have read all of Anna Zaire’s books, and as usual I can’t get enough. I devoured this book in two nights and was craving more. I am addicted to Anna’s stories and the couples she writes about. Beautiful Chains was no different. Counting down to the next book.
