About this ebook

Who is the Last Ronin? In a future, battle-ravaged New York City, a lone surviving Turtle embarks on a seemingly hopeless mission seeking justice for the family he lost. From legendary TMNT co-creators Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird, get ready for the final story of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles three decades in the making! What terrible events destroyed his family and left New York a crumbling, post-apocalyptic nightmare? All will be revealed in this climactic Turtle tale that sees longtime friends becoming enemies and new allies emerging in the most unexpected places. Can the surviving Turtle triumph? Eastman and Laird are joined by writer Tom Waltz, who penned the first 100 issues of IDW’s ongoing TMNT series, and artists Esau & Isaac Escorza (Heavy Metal) and Ben Bishop (The Far Side of the Moon) with an Introduction by filmmaker Robert Rodriguez! Collects the complete five-issue miniseries in a new graphic novel, an adventure as fulfilling for longtime Turtles fans as it is accessible for readers just discovering the heroes in a half-shell.

Ughhh... 'TMNT: The Last Ronin' is simply a gimmick -who is the remaining turtle- and a tired generic dystopian plot that should have stayed in the 90's. Every tired trope, dialogue, and overused character ideas you've ever seen in popular media the last twenty or more years is consolidated into this story. Even the overall moral of the story is presented as a message you've seen on a bumper sticker ('NO PEACE' changed into 'KNOW PEACE'); just awful and lazy writing. Do yourself a favor and look up who the remaining turtle is to satisfy your curiosity, then use the time you would have spent reading this to go do something else.

Quite possibly the best ending to the TMNT universe I've seen. Great character arcs and great evolution. The story also does a great job of portraying past events, even though it shows the demise of our beloved turtles and master splinter. All In all a must read and definitely a five out of five stars!

A real labour of love from the original creators of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, this comic contains all 5 chapters of The Last Ronin story. It's beautifully drawn, full of action, well written, and I enjoyed every lovingly crafted panel!
