***4 Stars*** Having thoroughly enjoyed Until It Fades, my first and only read by the author (I am working at getting to the ones on my TBR, I promise), I was more than ready to dive into another book of hers and when I saw the cover to Keep Her Safe (which is absolutely beautiful) and found out it was romantic suspense, I knew I’d find a way to get my hands on it in one way or another and I have to say I really enjoyed it. I didn’t devour it, it wasn’t that kind of read for me, it was more of a...let me put this down so I can digest what I just read and see if I can put a few pieces together and then get back to it kind of read, because I ALWAYS went back to it. I loved how each piece of the puzzle was presented, worked out and then put together in the end and though Noah and Gracie drove me just a little batshit crazy, I ended up loving them in the end. Noah and Gracie are two sides of a coin. One doesn’t trust easily while the other does and both had a tendency to take things to the extreme. There were quite a few times when I wanted to yell at them both for their actions (but didn’t because doing that at work would make me look crazier than my co-workers think I am) but I understood why. They are products of their upbringing and it has colored their view of the world around them. Both are stubborn in their own ways and yet have good hearts that only want the truth to come out, even if it destroys them. Their romance is a slow burning one especially since the one link they have is a tenuous one. Trust takes a while to build between them, but as they work together towards finding the truth behind what happened to Gracie’s dad, they become more than just co-amatuer detectives, they become friends, allies and more and I really liked where they were at in their relationship when everything was said and done. As I said in the beginning, I didn’t devour Keep Her Safe. I did put it down, but it was so I could process everything that the author was throwing our way, especially in the beginning. The crumbs did exactly what they were meant to, be bait and I was hooked. I kept looking at everything and everyone as a suspect and tried to see how it all could fit together. I did put a few of the pieces together before they were explained, but there were a few that surprised me and yet it all made perfect sense in the end. Keep Her Safe was another hit for me. The characters were well written and I enjoyed the multiple 1st person POV’s and what they brought to the story. I also liked how everything felt real from the motives behind each characters actions and reactions, to how everything played out in the end. So, if you like a good slow burn romantic suspense whose conclusion will leave you satisfied, then pick this one up! ~ Copy provided by the publisher via NetGalley & voluntarily reviewed ~
