Wow, blown away with this one. Since I'm more into sweet romance, I was nervous about reading romance with dark elements. The synopsis was so intriguing that I took a chance and accepted their invitation to visit their world. These characters instantly drew me in and their story is heartfelt, intense and suspenseful. Sophie is a brave-heart, feisty and very determined. Emery is broken-hearted and the only common ground they have is the hurt they are harboring. Never a dull moment....

Such an interesting story. Being not really fond of bdsm, since it portrays more of pain and sexual humiliation and subjugation, what held ones attention in this book was the mystery of the twin's unsolved kidnapping decades ago. The threat is still a very present and clear danger, not helped with the fact that the main male character seems gullible enough to believe his attacker more rather than the female who really cared for his safety. He was like a puppet on a string that can be twisted and manipulated at will. So much for the strong powerful alpha dom image. Overall, it is a skillfully woven tale of suspense, intrigue, betrayal and freaky sexual activities.

WoW! The story is so engaging, you can't help but get wrapped up in it! The characters are amazing, and layers are peeled away bit by bit as the story unfolds. There is still a mystery to be solved, but it's kind of obvious if you're paying attention. I can't wait to delve into the second book. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
