First time I read a book by this author and she did not disappoint. I was totally on the side of James and Caroline as both had to overcome traumatic hardships that have left scars. James’ are on the outside from burns he suffered while Caroline’s are emotional ones. The great storyline and incredible character development made this story such a joy to read, also the many emotional situations along with heartbreak having you wishing for the HEA that they definitely deserve. This is book three in The Metrogen After Hours Series and it is Caroline and James story and it is a must read. Omg this book has so many emotional situations along with heartbreak and you feel all of this as it you are going through it yourself and you find yourself hoping that they eventually get the happy ending that they both deserve. I couldn't put this book down and it was a real page turner that you had to keep reading to see what would happen next between them and I definitely wasn't disappointed with the outcome. Carina Alyce is fast becoming one of my favourite authors and I have read all of the books that she has written so far and I look forward to reading many more. I definitely recommend you read this book and others by her and you will definitely not be disappointed as she certainly knows how to keep her reader's attention and on the edge of their seats. This touching story will have you in Jamie and Caroline' corner. Both have had to overcome traumatic hardships that have left scars. Jamie's are on the outside while Caroline's are on the inside. They are neighbors who find themselves in Vegas together for different reasons. When he and Caroline connect and she finally sees Jamie scars and all. He prepares for the revulsion that his ex fiance had but she is totally opposite and embraces him and the scares . Can Jamie and Caroline get beyond their pasts and make it to a happily ever after?
