About this ebook

In New York Times bestselling author Cynthia Eden's latest novel featuring the Last Option Search Team (LOST), one agent is forced to face her past as she uncovers secrets about the man who may be the key to her future.

Criminal psychologist Dr. Sarah Jacobs is all too familiar with the kind of bad boys who belong behind bars. But the dark, dangerous man she meets in the New Orleans underworld is a new kind of ruthless, and all too irresistible.

Jax Fontaine doesn't claim to be a good guy, but he's loyal to his own code and brutally honest about what he wants. He and Sarah may be worlds apart, but when they're skin to skin, nothing matters but the heat between them.

And when a deranged killer targets Sarah, Jax will do whatever it takes to keep her safe. . . .

I liked her DOE agents series. But more I read her books, I figured all the stories are similar just with different names. What bothers me is the book published later are too dark to read, too depressing. Series killer....not my thing. Their twisted mind was more likely made up by the author. So I wonder...

I love Cynthia Eden's books! They draw the reader into the stories and hook you from page one. This installment from her Lost series is no exception, I was hooked from the beginning and couldn't put the book down! If you haven't read the two previous installments from this series you will be fine starting with this book but I do recommend you go back and read the other installments as well. This book is about Sarah Jacobs, a profiler with the Lost team. After growing up and learning her father was a serial killer Sarah decided to become a profiler and joined he Lost team. Sarah is great at her job but personally she pushed everyone away. She is scared if she get to close to anyone and they learn about her dark past and her secrets that they will leave her. It is just easier to never let anyone in to begin with. Jax Fontaine was introduced in the previous installment and readers have been dying to learn more about Jax and his dark past. Jax's childhood is fuzzy for him and he wants Sarah and the Lost team to help him uncover his past and find out what happened to him after he was taken as a child. Jax tracks down Sarah and the team but before he can tell them his situation and ask for help Sarah is attacked. Jax ends up saving Sarah from the attacker and instantly finds himself drawn to her. These two soon find themselves playing a game of cat and mouse with a deranged killer set on making Sarah pay for her father's crimes. On their journey to find the killer Sarah and Jax also uncover pieces of their past that will leave them shaken and fighting to hold onto the good they have found in each other. I received this book compliments of the publisher for my honest review and opinion. All ratings and opinions stated are my own.
