Bastion is book two in the O-Men: Liege’s Legion. This is a science fiction series that is a departure from Elaine’s normal work, but is so well done, I love it! Bastion and Selena’s book was definitely worth the wait! This is Bastion and Selena’s story. Their story begins in The Red Team Series, but you do not need to have read it prior to this story. Elaine did an amazing job bringing all of their previous scenes into this book. And OMG what a story it is!!! This series brings us the “mutants” created by the Omni World Order. Through nanotechnology these men have become super soldiers with heightened senses, metaphysical and psionic abilities. She does a fascinating job explaining their extra human abilities. Changed against their will, they have formed a group of warriors whose goal is to save humanity. In their world is the myth of the Matchmaker. “The Matchmaker's Curse says if the mutant accepts the match, then his fated mate must die. If he doesn't accept it, then he must die...
No one has yet survived the curse.” These warriors soon find out it’s no myth at all. Bastion is one hot, sexy Frenchman. He is sent to spy on the Red Team to find out if they are fighting for or against the OWO. Here is where he meets his mate, Selena. Her journey began years ago when a tragic event from her past leads her to become a tough kick ass warrior. Underneath this warrior’s skin is a lonely soul who yearns for the love all of her other teammates have found. When these two finally meet in person, Selena is not happy with Bastion for spying on her team. While Bastion could be funny but a little obnoxious, he is soon winning Selena over with his sensitive romantic heart. However, their nemesis Brett Flynn is back and has set his sights on Selena and the Red Team. Can the team learn to fight this changing OWO and still remain the same? Will Selena and Bastion find a way to break the Matchmaker’s curse?

4.5⭐ This is the second story in the O-Men: Liege's Legion series, and whilst I haven't read the first it didn't affect my enjoyment mostly because I've been desperate to read more about Bastion since his brief appearances in the later Red Team stories and I was excited to finally explore his strange connection to Selina. And whilst I didn't, to start really get what or who the Legion are it wasn't hard to figure out and the story was very intriguing. Plus, I enjoyed it much more than I expected, considering there is a big element of the paranormal and that's not something I usually read. But the mix of paranormal, suspense, action and romance was really excellent. And I liked the fact sensitive topics were broached, and broached both delicately and with respect. And I can honestly say there were moments when I got a little teary eyed. Not to mention I was easily engaged throughout, land I would happily recommend this story to others. **ARC provided in exchange for honest review**

really enjoyed this second installment of the series. It has its share of conflict, of misunderstandings, of sacrifice, of humor and of course, of love. It would help if you have read the Red Team series first, but really this book stands on its own as well. But meeting "old friends" again written from a different point of view brings new insight and appreciation for characters that I'd fallen in love with previously. I did enjoy listening into both Bastion's and Selena's though process as she struggled between her loyalty to her team and to her heart. The character development really drew me in.
