Barbara Mann

Barbara Alice Mann is a Ph.D. scholar and Professor of Humanities in the Honors College at the University of Toledo, Ohio. Author of thirteen books, in 2014, she published "The Cooper Connection: The Influence of Jane Austen on James Fenimore Cooper" through AMS Press. Mann's most recent book is "Spirits of Blood, Spirits of Breath: Traditional Indigenous Spirituality" (Oxford University Press, 2016). She is internationally known for "Iroquoian Women: The Gantowisas" (2000), now in its third printing, and is currently working on an international, collaborative book examining historical massacres of Indigenous peoples worldwide, 1780-1820. An Ohio, Bear Clan Seneca, Dr. Mann is the state co-chair of the Native American Alliance of Ohio.
