Daniel Newman

Daniel Newman is Professor of Arabic at the School of Modern Languages and Cultures, University of Durham. He is the author of several books, including (with R. Husni), Muslim Women in Law and Society, London: Routledge, 2008, 256 pages (this work received the World Award of the President of the Republic of Tunisia for Islamic Studies) and An Imam in Paris: Al-Tahtawi's visit to France (1826-31), London: Saqi Books, 2004.
