Doris Parmett Having lived on both coasts and in the middle of the country, I can’t remember when a book hasn’t been a welcome part of my life. I come from a family of writers and readers; therefore, the progression to set my own stories on paper seemed natural. As a teacher and reading specialist, I’ve always told students that books are friends. They’ll never tell you they’re too busy to see you. An author’s job is to transport us into another world. A world where characters come alive. We root for them through adversity; hope for the best. When I wrote my eleven Loveswepts, I kept meeting a number of well-intentioned but rough at the edges, hunky charmers. Fate kept bringing together heroes and sassy-mouthed vixens; heroines determined not to follow orders. Their only problem: love knocks them for a loop. (I could have told them that!)Regardless of circumstances, books are friends. I wish all of you lots of friends.
