After thirty years in the practice of dentistry, the author first began writing children's literature, completing numerous short stories and two novels for children before his writing interest turned to American History. Ligotti's first three novels were published together as a trilogy of unique American Revolutionary period characters. The author is a freelance writer and writes a monthly column for The Guide Magazine. This work of fiction, Suppressed, is the author's second published venture in the genre of the mystery novel, the first was the highly acclaimed, The Third Woman. The author lives in Smithtown, Long Island with his wife, Corbina. He has two married daughters, Gina and Lisa and one grandson, Gino.
