GEORGIOS PAPANICOLAOU is Lecturer in Criminology at Teesside University, UK. He works from a materialist theoretical perspective on the history, organisation and role of the police apparatus, and his current research interests include the politics of transnational policing and the policing of national and transnational illegal markets.
