Kayo Chingonyi is a Zambian-British poet, based in the UK. He was born in Zambia in 1987 and has lived in the UK since the age of six. He is a fellow of the Complete Works program for diversity and quality in British Poetry. Currently he is the poetry editor for The White Review. He also works as an emcee, producer, DJ, and regularly collaborates with musicians and composers as a poet and lyricist. His works include two pamphlets, Some Bright Elegance (2012) and Colour of James Brown's Scream (2016). He has one full-length collection, Kukukanda (2017) which won the 2018 Dylan Thomas Prize.
