Born in Los Angeles in 1958, Laura Mullen is the author of six books of poetry, including The Surface (University of Illinois Press, 1991), the postmodern gothic THE TALES OF HORROR: [A FLIP-BOOK] (Kelsey Street Press, 1999), the poetic crime novel MURMUR (Futurepoem, 2007), and ENDURING FREEDOM (Otis Books | Seismicity Editions, 2012). She received her BA in English from UC Berkeley and her MFA in Poetry from the University of Iowa Writers' Workshop. She currently teaches creative writing at Louisiana State University.
