Mary Carter

Mary E. Carter's debut novel /I, Sarah Steinway /was a FINALIST in the National Jewish Book Awards, 2019 and was a WINNER in the New Mexico-Arizona Book Awards, 2018. Her novel, The Three-Day Departure of Mrs. Annette Zinn, and her memoir, A Non-Swimmer Considers Her Mikvah, were both WINNERS in the New Mexico-Arizona Book Awards.During a twenty-five-year career, Carter was an advertising copywriter doing broadcast and print advertising at Grey Advertising, Honig-Cooper & Harrington/Foote Cone & Belding, and Erwin Wasey in Los Angeles. She and her husband had a design company in San Francisco doing corporate high technology and consumer marketing and advertising for Ernst & Young, Charles Schwab, Dreyer's, Chateau St. Jean Winery and many others. She was born in the San Fernando Valley long before there were freeways in Southern California. Carter lives with her husband, Gary W. Priester and their two cats in Placitas New Mexico, USA.
