W. D. M. Bell

Walter Dalrymple Maitland Bell, also known as Karamojo Bell, was a Scottish adventurer, big game hunter, soldier, decorated fighter pilot, sailor, writer, and painter. His remarkable success as an ivory hunter earned him widespread recognition. Bell’s advocacy for precise shot placement with smaller-caliber rifles revolutionized African game hunting. His expertise extended beyond Africa, as he traveled to North America and New Zealand, sailed windjammers, and served in the Royal Flying Corps during World War I.
