Eight-year-old Anthony (Jaeden Lieberher) is uneasy about spending the weekend with his alcoholic, down-on-his-luck carpenter dad, Walt (Clive Owen, Children of Men), while his mom (Maria Bello, Grown Ups) and her new husband Kyle (Matthew Modine) go to a Catholic retreat together.Their first day together is a series of characteristically unfortunate events, including his truck breaking down, his landlord locking him out of the house, and the theft of his toolbox, which he needs for an upcoming job. With his future unknown, but his son by his side, Walt sets out to find his toolbox and suddenly discovers something else: a true connection with Anthony.
