Easy to use and to set up devices and it has some basic automation features. However the app comes with issues. I've had it not sent camera alerts through, despite them coming over my smart speakers. Worst is the notifications. They've bundled all of them together, so the same sound is used for motion alert, firmware ready to install, battery drain. Wich is bad as you want a distinctive sound for motion alert. I don't get the impression they will fix this

Terrible for quickly viewing the cameras. For whatever reason whenever I need to connect in a hurry, motion being detected for example, it always seems to take longer to load in those CRUCIAL moments. I mean I'm not imagining this. It's happened every time. When I don't need to watch, it's fast. When I do, it takes its time. I don't think I need to mention that is a major problem to have for a security camera. Update Dec 2024 Still terrible. Loses connection, buffers often regardless of wifi.

The 500 camera acknowledges the SD card in them 1/2 the time they just disappear but worked perfectly in the 200s. I even bought new ones to put in the 500s and it's the same problem no matter what brand or type of SD card I use. Neither camera updates correctly, it takes many tries. The cameras sit on top of the Wi-Fi box when updating or setting up and it's still an issue. Now the one closest to the Wi-Fi constantly disconnects. Avoid all Tapo products. 100% garbage products you've been warned
