Good app using OSM but for outdoors activities Open topo maps should really be added too. Good for routing outside the city or to follow trails while walking. Navigation in busy urban environments not yet great. In Android Auto, when you drive away from the selected route while navigating, the app either stops updating the map, hangs or jumps to every other road nearby when you get close to that road. Not the allrounder I am looking for yet but getting there.

Sorry for the inconvenience. Please write us at [email protected] to investigate the routing issue.

In the Netherlands, it is unusable for public transit and more annoying than all alternatives I've tried for cycling. it does not have certain public transit options (the bus network I use), it's extremely pessimistic around certain modal connections (going 20 min out of the way to avoid a ferry that takes 8 min at worst), and it does not have an option to set cycling speed.

Only metro/light rail is used for PT navigation now. Implementing buses/trams is planned but requires a lot of resources, any help and donations are welcome. Please send us an example of a bad bicycle route without a ferry at [email protected] so we can check openstreetmap.org data and improve the algorithm.

It makes you download maps of a larger area before you can use them, but then it uses them for *everything*: even search and navigation are offline! I also love how detailed the OpenStreetMap data is compared to Google Maps, and how it includes Wikipedia descriptions of significant places. The only things missing for me sometimes are reviews and functional public transport planning in the EU, but that's probably a matter of data not being available from open sources.
