Two months ago The Guardian doubled (!) the subscription rate. I decided to stay for a year nevertheless but now I now know I made a mistake. The last update (12 February 2024) is a big step backwards. Not only have all my careful personal settings disappeared (again) but the new layout forces me to load a lot of nonsense I do not wat to see. Being an excellent news source is not sufficient: I need a go pod app as well. This update is below par.

Used to be great. I'm a subscriber. Latest update destroyed Home Screen settings. I do not want a My Guardian page, I want them back on the HS. Hide/Show function is not wanted; I wish to remove content I do not read. I'll give it time to improve, otherwise, as others say here, what's the point of the app? Time to move on...?

Absolutely terrible update, stories are duplicated, others are impossible to open, difficult to navigate, and suddenly we have to view adverts, as we can 'see' the printed page. Plus, you have to download the sections separately, instead of as one document. Such a disappointment. I really enjoyed the previous iteration.
