This has been a great way to access audiobooks. In general, the app works well. There is, however, one rather frustrating issue that I have repeatedly incountered over the several years that I have used this app. The rewind function is a bit chaotic. While it is supposed to jumpback 15 seconds, an acceptable amount of time, it does so unreliably, sometimes jumping back much, much further (25 minutes for example). It can then take several minutes for me to then find where I had left off.

Perhaps it's the popularity of titles I'm interested in. Or it may be my busy lifestyle that keeps me from reading/listening to the content I've selected. Either way, I find it a struggle to finish the books in the time alloted. When I choose to renew a book, I'm bumped to the bottom of the wait list. A rough calculation works out to 6-8 months from request to finishing two books. One audio and one non-audio. I'm leaning towards buying books. with the hope of more directly supporting an author.

I've used Libby for several years and loved it. The last several months have been very disappointing with it shutting down constantly. Even when my audiobook is downloaded if I am driving and switch towers it shuts down. I have to restart the app (obviously not ideal for driving hands free). When laying in bed and I set the sleep mode to 30 minutes it shut down after 2 or 3 minutes - 6 times. I had to restart the app to get it going again. The constant shut down is awful. I have android 11 OS.

What’s new

A fix for the issue where an audiobook would skip backward unexpectedly.
