My background is a UX-designer who researched the aurora for my college degree. Informed by the Dutch navy and spaceweatherlive themselves. Already I can see that this has everything related to forecasting the northern lights in a well thought out, user friendly interface. The most important aspects of the solar wind are included, while removing clutter. It succeeds at giving the information needed. User observations are what sets this apart, as the data can only do so much.

*** 8/15/24 Updating to 3 stars for now, because i am getting the notifications, but the map is still not accurate. it isn't difficult to find my location on the map, but it doesn't default to that. I never get notifications and the map is for clear on the other side of the world.

This app helped me find a location and nail some epic aurora pictures twice! I had not seen it before prior to using this app because I always went outside too late or it would cloud up just as I went out there. Now I get timely alerts and I can choose the best places to go away from city lights. Thank you!
