“No, not just yours, Carol, but mine as well. Our level. What does she mean anyway? That we are not of her class, and are not up to her taste or what?”

“Barry. This is Aunty Selina we are talking about.”

“And so? Does she want to tell me that we are not worthy of entertaining her? You are her niece for crying out loud.”

“Just try to calm down, Barry,” she said. “You know that she does not mean to snub us or avoid us.”

“Then she should come down to our level and stop all this unnecessary posing.”

“You are just tired, Barry. I know. But look at the brighter side of things.”

“Which is what?”

“You could get her to bank with you.”

“Bank with me? No way. I don’t need her patronage in anyway.”

“Barry.”

“I am serious, Carol. I know such wealthy people. They tend to be very demanding and can make life a living hell for bankers. And trust me, I don’t want to have to contend with her as a customer as well as an aunty-in-law.”

“Barry, now I see that you are just being unreasonable.”

“No, I am not being unreasonable. I am being very honest here. I think I would prefer to deal with her as an in-law and not as both an in-law and a customer.”

“But fir a long time you have been saying that you would want to get some big time customers so that you can meet your targets and get promoted.”

“And so?”

“And so? Aunty Selina is a sure ticket to your career goals, Barry. Just think of it.”

“No. There is nothing to think about here. I am not marketing anything to her at all.”

She sighed. “You are just being unreasonable.”

“And you are being impossible.”

“And to think that I was trying to help you meet your targets.”
