A visit to friends in Connecticut is a strange affair for David Stanhope. A brother and sister in the vicinity are brutally murdered and David joins local officials for investigation. Carolyn Wells (1862–1942) was an American mystery author. A highly prolific writer, she was known for her children’s stories, mystery novels, and humorous verse. Her books include A Nonsense Anthology and The Book of Humorous Verse.

He recorded dozens of books for the National Library Service and narrated innumerable radio and television recordings.
