‘AADIPARV’ is a historical novel written by Dr. Pramila Jarag is based on life of Malojiraje Bhosle, a warrior, administrator and statesman at his time and Grandfather of ‘Chhatrapati Shivaji’ the Great. The novel depicts social and political scenario of Deccan India during end of 16th century and beginning of 17th century, spread over period of 18 years during which Malojiraje ascended from a soldier to chief of Army. These 18 years were the most turbulent years in the history at ‘Nijamshahi of Ahmadnagar’, that ruled over the part of land, which is today’s Maharashtra, for a century during which there were two wars between Mughuls under leadership of Emperor Akbar and Chandbibi, the first empress of Deccan. Dr. Pramila Jarag has done a lot of study of literature on the subject in different languages including Urdu & Persian and has used words in these languages so aptly to relive that era to the readers. Events of the personal life and historical events are intertwined very intricately.The most inspiring part of the book is main character ‘Malojiraje’, as his work has definitely founded the roots of velour of his successors ‘Shahaji Maharaj’ and ‘Chhatrapati Shivaji’ who founded a Sovereign Maratha Empire in Deccan.मालोजीराजे- छत्रपती शिवरायांचे आजोबा.सोळाव्या शतकात निजामशाही, आदिलशाही, मोगल यांच्यात सत्तासंघर्ष सुरू होता, त्यात लढणारे मात्र या भूमीचे पुत्र होते. विध्वंस होत होता इथल्या भूमीचा. विध्वंस होणारी आपली भूमी, युद्धात आणि सततच्या दुष्काळात होरपळणारी रयत, श्रद्धास्थानांची होणारी दुरावस्था, याचा सल उरात ठेवूनच हा पराक्रमी योद्धा त्या काळाच्या निजामशाहीत वावरला. स्वपराक्रमाने `सरगु-हो'सारख्या सर्वोच्च दरबारी पदावर गेला. शहाजी महाराजांनी सहा वर्षे चालवलेली प्रतिनिजामशाही, स्वतंत्रपणे राज्यकारभार चालवण्याचा केलेला धाडसी प्रयत्न; पुढे त्यांच्या व जिजाऊंच्या प्रेरणेने शिवरायांनी स्थापन केलेले स्वतंत्र हिंदवी स्वराज्य- यामागे मालोजीराजेंच्या शौर्याचा, पराक्रमाचा वारसा आहे.छत्रपती शिवरायांच्या कर्तबगारीतून साकारलेल्या सार्वभौम हिंदवी स्वराज्याचा धागा मालोजीराजेंपर्यंत जातो. मालोजीराजेंच्या कर्तृत्वाची ओळख मराठी वाचकांना करून देण्याचा प्रयत्न आजवर झालेला नाही. `आदिपर्व' या कादंबरीने ही उणीव भरून काढलेली आहे.इतिहासाशी प्रामाणिक राहून लिहिलेली ही अभ्यासपूर्ण कादंबरी मराठी ऐतिहासिक कादंबरीची परंपरा समृद्ध करणारी आहे.
