I thoroughly enjoyed reading An Unexpected Arrangement by Heidi McCahan. This author knows exactly how to portray the feelings of being overwhelmed by infant twins and of being totally smitten with them. I don't normally care for the surprise baby trope, but this was handled in such a way that I did like it. I encourage you to give this one a try as it is extremely well done. Jack and Laramie are fleshed out to the point that you will feel like you could join them for a cup of coffee at Angie's Diner and totally enjoy the time spent with them. There's a great HEA for this couple. I am hoping that Ms. McCahan writes about Laramie's brother Landon next. I'm very curious about his story. I received a complimentary copy. I chose to write a review and share my opinion of this delightful romance.

This story belongs to Jack Tomlinson and Laramie Chambers. Jack and Laramie have been friends for many years. She’s his oldest sister’s best friend, and he is the boy that secretly has had a crush on her what seems like forever. But this seemingly irresponsible, impulsive goofy guy, has been struggling with the deaths of his uncle and father. Jack believes he caused his father’s death. The pressures of his family wanting him to work in the family business and his guilt have propelled him to search for a job in another city. But his life is turned upside down when he discovers he has twins and will now be responsible for them. In comes Laramie to the rescue. While she helps Jack, her true feelings start showing but he’s leaving and she has responsibilities at home and work. This was a story about family , feelings of guilt, taking responsibility, and finding love. I have to confess that it took me a while to both get into the story and warm up to Jack and Laramie. For me it was more of a 3.5 stars story but I respect the author’s work and dedication and for that I will give it 4 stars. I was entrusted a copy of this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
