About this ebook

Ancient gods. Modern war. And a star-crossed couple who could use some divine intervention.

The day I was drafted into the army of the gods, all I knew about being a MASH surgeon was what I’d learned from Hawkeye Pierce and Hot Lips Houlihan. Now here I am, Dr. Petra Robichaud, in the middle of an immortal war, assigned to a MASH camp with a nosy sphinx, a vegetarian werewolf, and an uptight vampire who really needs to get a life.

At least they’re all too busy with their own dramas to discover my secret: I can see the dead. It’s a forbidden gift, one that can get me killed, so I haven’t told a soul.

Until the arrestingly intense Galen arrives on my operating table, half-dead and totally to-die-for. When his spirit tries to slip out of his fatally wounded body, I impulsively slip it back in. Call it a rash resurrection. One I’ll live to regret.

Now Commander Galen of Delphi knows my secret, and he’s convinced I’m part of an ancient prophecy—one that can end the war for good. But taking a chance could cost me everything. And it would be easier to convince him to leave me alone, except now the prophecies are starting to come true…

Warning: This novel contains a hefty dose of danger, drama, practical jokes, pet swamp lizards, brooding demigods, adventure, romance, and heart—in a MASH camp where everybody knows your business.

*The core of this book was originally called Immortally Yours, published by St. Martin's Press in 2012. The author has rewritten it into the way she always envisioned the story to be, which means it is now a romantic comedy instead of an angsty book. Oh, and there are a lot more pet swamp lizards, too.

The Monster MASH is unlike any book I've ever read. The heroine is a doctor who is pulled into a war of the gods where she slaves away in a MASH field hospital. She saved the life of a demi-god and unwittingly starts an age old prophecy that will end the war, but at the cost of his mortal life. I read it in one day, unable to turn away from the action and romance. Now I can't wait to read the rest of the series.

The Monster MASH by Angie Fox has Dr. Petra Robichaud working in a MASH unit in limbo after being recruited (shanghaied is more liked it) by the New God Army. She has spent the last seven years trying to save the creatures who are fighting in the war between the Old Gods and the New Gods. Petra has a special gift that could get her killed if the gods become aware of it. The only person in her life who knew the truth was her father. Commander Galen of Delphi is on her table and his soul is leaving his body. Petra cannot let him die. She grabs his soul and puts it back into his body bringing Galen back to life. Petra hopes Galen does not remember what happened, but she knows that he looked right at her. Unfortunately, Galen does recall what happened despite Petra’s denials. He believes Petra is the one mentioned in an old prophecy that could finally end the very long war. When prophecies begin coming true, Petra can no longer ignore the inevitable. Petra cannot help but wonder what she must sacrifice in order to end the lengthy war. The Monster MASH is the beginning of a new series for Angie Fox. It is a departure from The Southern Ghost Hunter Mysteries with Verity and Frankie. Petra is a strong woman who is used to taking care of others and having no personal life. I did find some of Petra’s characteristics to be contrary with this image especially where romance is concerned. There are a variety of eclectic characters including a vegetarian werewolf, a diva vampire, a demigod warrior, and a riddle happy sphinx security guard. I thought the authors descriptive word imagery brought the scenes to life. I could imagine the stark landscape of limbo where Petra is forced to live and work. There are a couple of humorous moments. I wish there had been more of them to lighten up the story. The Monster MASH has danger, romance, creepy monsters, controlling gods, conflict, death, and horrible food. For those who like the series MASH and paranormal stories, you will enjoy reading The Monster MASH. It is a quick story to read with a preview of what happens in the next installment. The Monster MASH is an intriguing new paranormal series with a dangerous demigod, problematic roommates, nosy neighbors, multiplying swamp lizards, noteworthy news on the paranormal network, a security sphinx, and a physician with a private power.

Fantastic new paranormal tale from Angie Fox with memorable characters and a hot romance! Take popular ‘70s tv series MASH, mix in some mythology from across the globe, throw in a touch of action/adventure, sprinkle a little romance novel on the top and you have a fun, exciting read that leaves you looking forward to more. Monster Mash is the first of a three installment trilogy by the author of the Demon Slayer and Southern Ghost Hunter series, Angie Fox. This story opens in the middle of a war between mythological gods, with the old guard on one side, the new blood on the other side, and mortals smack dab in the middle. Involuntary draftee and thoracic surgeon Dr. Petra Robichaud found herself patching up wounded soldiers in a front line mobile surgical hospital, and trying to keep a secret that could get her killed. We follow Petra through crowded operating rooms, dodging bad food in the mess tent, and bonding with her paranormal roomies, who are also fellow surgeons, until one day a soldier comes to her table and changes everything. Fox has certainly found her niche and hits the perfect notes with this book. The settings are colorful and detailed, characters rich and fleshed out, action exciting and suspenseful, and the plot intricate and well crafted. Two things set her writing apart, however. First are her subtle, and at times not so subtle, nods to things outside the world created within that particular book. Mentioning other books, characters, authors, etc. is a lovely wave ‘hello’ to her longtime readers, as well as readers of the genre. Second, her humor is, of course, ever present and always at exactly the right place in the story. I adore Fox’s quirky characters, and she’s got just the right tone with the blossoming romance between Petra and her love interest. The story was very interesting and the reading went quickly. The ending felt a hair rushed, but wrapped things up nicely, and was very satisfying. If you’re into Mary Janice Davidson, Katie MacAlister, or Dakota Cassidy this will be right up your alley. Paranormal, romance, suspense, action/adventure, and humor, this book has it all. A great opener to what promises to be a fantastic new trilogy. Excited for the second installment.
