About this ebook

A shaky truce. A pregnant Medusa. And a dedicated doctor who keeps legends alive.

Even during a truce, I have my hands full as a MASH surgeon to an army of warring gods—especially when Medusa herself turns up pregnant. I frankly have no idea what to expect when a Gorgon’s expecting, but I have an even bigger problem when my presumed-dead former-fiancé sneaks into my tent with enough emotional baggage to fill a tank.

He’s been fighting for the other side, which technically makes him my enemy, and now he needs me and the power I’ve kept secret for so long: I can see the dead. It’s a blessing and a curse. Literally. Because the gods will smite me in a second if they suspect.

But the other side is developing a terrible new weapon, and the only person who can stop the carnage was just murdered in a covert lab behind enemy lines. So I have no choice but to pull on my combat boots and go AWOL with my ex and a moody berserker to confront a ghost with a terrible secret.

Too bad uncovering the truth could make me enemy #1…

Warning: This book contains a Star Wars-obsessed werewolf, an adorable hellhound, demigods in peril, action, romance, and friends who put each other first—in a MASH camp where everybody knows your business.

*The core of this book was originally called Immortally Embraced, published by St. Martin's Press in 2013. The author has rewritten it into the way she always envisioned the story to be, which means it is now a romantic comedy instead of an angsty book. Oh, and there are a lot more pet swamp lizards, too.

The Transylvania Twist by Angie Fox is a humorous paranormal romance. Dr. Petra Robichaud is an intelligent, strong protagonist. She must be if she is going to treat a pregnant Medusa and not be turned to stone. I like the quirky characters in this engaging series. While The Transylvania Twist is the 2nd book in The Monster MASH trilogy, it can be read on its own. Everything a reader needs to know is included. Angie Fox has an engaging writing style. She draws you into the story and holds onto you until the very end. Petra has some unique roommates with a vampire and a Star Trek figurine loving werewolf. The storyline is creative. A war between new golds and old gods playing out in limbo with an assortment of creatures and humans. The word imagery allows me to visualize the scenes including Petra’s cobbled together lab. I laughed often while reading this amusing tale. I especially enjoyed the banter between Petra and her werewolf roommate. The Transylvania Twist blends suspense, romance, mystery, and humor into one engaging read. You have to wonder if Petra will survive a murdered ghost, a roommate’s prolific rumors, a flirtatious goddess, a pregnant gorgon, a hellish hole, and an overflow of figurines in her bunk. The last third of the book had me quickly turning the pages to find out what happened. The Transylvania Twist is a fun, quirky story with a prickly pregnancy, an excess of Stark Trek collectibles, a statistic loving sphinx, predictive prophecies, a back-from-the-dead beau, a damaging ghost, a daring shapeshifting dragon, and a rare rock.

Another fun read in the Monster MASH trilogy! Dr. Petra Robichaud is back in this second installment of author Angie Fox’s nod to ‘70s television sitcoms. As the war between the ancient gods enjoys a temporary truce, the army hospital surgeon is dealing with some battles of her own. Her new hunky soldier boyfriend breaks up with her before rejoining his regiment for a likely doomed future, just in time for a surprise reappearance of an old flame. The doctor has some inner demons to sort out, as she finds herself in yet another life or death struggle fraught with impossible choices. Circumstances send her on an emotional roller coaster, while she attempts to balance her duties as a doctor with matters of the heart. All of the interesting, quirky beings from the debut book are present to make this story equally as funny and unpredictable. I have to admit, I was pulling for Petra’s personal life to go in a different direction, but with the complications that arose in this story, the third and final installment should be an exciting, wild ride. Fox’s brand of storytelling brings these struggles to life with humor and clarity. It’s an age old story with a paranormal/fantasy twist, a genre Fox excels at. The settings are detailed, the plot is well developed, and characters beautifully fleshed out. If you’ve read any of this author’s previous work, you’ll immediately recognize her writing style, yet this book stands on its own quite nicely. If you enjoy a bit of mystery, some fun fantasy, a little lighthearted paranormal bent, a smidge of romance, with a sprinkle of adventure, throw in some colorful backdrops, a strong, smart female protagonist, complex but endearing characters, and storyline intricate enough to be interesting, but not so complex it’s hard to keep up with, then The Transylvania Twist is a book for you. A highly recommended relaxing read and perfect escape.

This was another 5 star read for me, and a great second installement in the Monster Mash series. Petra has finally decided that the prophecies are true, they are about her, and that a lasting peace might someday be possible. When Galen gets called back to duty and breaks up with her. Little does she know that she is about to get some NEWS. Turns out Marc who everyone thought was dead.... is in fact alive and needs Petras help talking to a ghost.. A ghost that was developing a weapon that could turn the tide in the war in the old Gods favor, and in death has turned a bit crazy. I love that Petra is no longer trying to fight that she is the one the prophecies are talking about. Also how caring she is with her patients especially a pregnant Medusa who can turn people to stone, and is super hormonal at the moment. Ah and the snark is back in full and I love every moment! Im not sure how I would react if my current boyfriend broke up with me, then my dead ex turns out to be alive but I think Petra did the best she could in the situation she was in. Although Im still rooting for Galen.. It was fun to see the roles reversed in this one as shes trying to convince Marc that the prophecies are real and peace is possible. We get alot more medling from the gods, and some weird things that involve star trek figurines that seem to multiply, a bucket of sardine water and the goddess of chaos.. I cant wait to see how the final book plays out! Thank goodness we only have to wait until February! I received an advanced copy of this book, all opinions are my own,
