About this ebook

Honor takes a huge chance and flees her compound one wintry night. A genetically altered woman, she has no memories from before her kin staged a rebellion seven years before. Because of her enhanced physiology, she finds a home working for the CIA alongside four other women just like her. There are still plenty of rules, but they’re different, and she’s figuring out how to blend in.

Milton Reins burns through women and marriages. After the third one implodes, he swears off hunting for a replacement. Running the CIA is a more than fulltime job. There’s no time for anything else in his life, which is fine until Honor comes along. Training in the gym throws their bodies together, and makes him remember the feel of a woman in his arms. Milton aches for her, but she’s a freak, the CIA term for test tube humans designed by scientists.

Honor wants Milton with every bone in her body, but it’s a terrible idea, especially after she delves into his head and sees his ambivalence toward her kind. Need drives them together, but their differences create roadblocks every step of the way. Fueled by anger and fear, she shuts him out. So what if the sex was great, she’s done.

I love the details in this world of man-made science gone crazy. As we know from book 1, CIA Black Ops is involved in finding and killing the "freaks" that turned on their makers, killing and destroying the labs where they were created. The CIA is trying to locate as many of these "freaks" and destroy their compounds as fast as they can find them and now they have the help of the women that they previously rescued. The women, glad to be free are now working and training side by side as well as teaching the CIA operatives how to use the enhanced powers given to them in order for them to have a fighting chance against the "freaks". This includes, Milton the CIA leader who trains with them as well. Both he and one of the women, Honor, are surprised by their attraction to each other and fight it due to their "differences". Because of the women's willingness to work with them, Milton hopes some of the males will not have to be killed but will want amnesty in exchange for helping them. I've already given away more than I like, just let me say that they learn so much more about these "freaks" and more than once go against terrible odds to stop them before they bring mankind down. Both the operatives and the women learn how much more powerful they are, especially when they work together. It sounds like I've left spoilers, but believe me there's a lot of suspense, thrills and danger happening while learning how to find trust and love between man and freak. I've only given you an outline of the exciting action in this story and if your a lover of sci-fi romance thrillers you need to get this book. Once I started reading I didn't put it down till I finished it; exactly how I read the first book and when I finish this review I'll be reaching for the 3rd. Come, fall into this world where science has once again forgotten it's humanity and join those that are trying to save it.
